The information contained in the sex offender registry is mainly provided by the offender when they register with the Department of Corrections. This information is then forwarded to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety Sex Offender Registry. The MDPS updates this information regularly, to try to assure that it is complete and accurate. It allows searches to be conducted by name, city, county, zip code, alias names, and all non-compliants by the last county they were known to reside in.
